Barrel – Numbered

There are a group of Needhams that have numbers stamped on the barrel between the receiver and the rear sight. They also have the same number stamped on the butt plate and sometimes on the stock behind the breech plug. All of these use the same size and seems to be the style font. I have one of these in my collection. there is another in Columbus Georgia Infantry Museum. There are two other random Needhams I haven’t yet located but have images. If I ever see these come up for sale, may see if can work up a deal. Presently I don’t know what entity stamped these but they are obviously from the same one. SH&G did sell numerous Needhams to military or military style units.

#3 stamped on the barrel between the receiver and rear sight. There is not a stamp on the stock but has #3 stamped on the butt cap. I believe this is the same entity that stamped the others on this page.
