This hammer was bought at a Civil War show in Franklin Tennessee.
The pins are Type 2. That is two flat stealth pins. They can barely be seen.

The crown is a Type 2. The long slot can be seen in this pic. That is the head of the wedge
Note the lines are to each side This is different than the Type 1 crown
Note, no numbers stamped into the wedge. So far, most Type 2 crowns do not have a number stamped into the wedge.
This hammer was also condemned. Note there is either a 1 or an I stamped into the shank. There is another hammer in the site that no number on the wedge but has a single digit in the same location where this 1 or I is.
