These are lock plates in my Needham parts collection.
Needham lock plates are standard M1861 and M1863 lock plates that were modified to fit the Needham receiver. These lock plates came from one of two sources. I know M1861 and M1863 lock plates were used because some of the lock plate names were only associated with M1861 muskets at the time. A complete Needham Conversion was parted out for parts, or they came from the parts stash SH&G sold.
