This is the only breech block I have ever seen that is stamped. And it is stamped “01”
Quite possibly the first breech block made as either a prototype or first production. I do not believe it belonged to hammer #1 because it has it’s breech block. The font is the same style and size as font B, which can be found in the hammer font section. This is a historic find for the Needham world. This block is not on a complete Needham. It is from a stash of parts I found and bought.
